The Lebanese Forces in the UK, in coordination with the Diaspora Department, held a ceremony to present party membership cards to new members, in a gathering that embodied belonging, camaraderie and responsibility.

The event opened with a minute’s silence, followed by the British and Lebanese national anthems. The Secretary, Mr Joseph Boutros, then addressed members’ rights and duties, as well as their roles and responsibilities within the party’s organisational structure.
The vice President, Mr Freddy Mhanna, highlighted the significance of the ceremony in reaffirming commitment and belonging, expanding the party’s organisational presence, promoting its political culture, and strengthening its institutional foundations.

Former Coordinator Mr Joseph Barakat praised the achievements of the Executive Committee of the Lebanese Forces in the UK. He stressed the continuation of the resistance through new members and their commitment to political and ideological engagement.

The president of the Lebanese Forces in the UK, Dr Johnny Rawass, welcomed the new members into the Lebanese Forces family. He affirmed that joining the Lebanese Forces represents a commitment to its values and principles, to a legacy of resistance spanning more than 1,500 years, and to the path forged by its founder, Sheikh Bachir Gemayel, carried forward by party leader Dr Samir Geagea and thousands of Lebanese Forces members.

Rawass described the decision to join as a courageous one, reflecting their choice of a party with a longstanding history of resistance, sacrifice and commitment beyond personal interests. He emphasised that developed nations and strong homelands are built through organised political parties.

Rawass invited all members, longstanding and new alike, to sing the Lebanese Forces anthem with resounding voices. Membership cards were then presented to the new members to the sound of Lebanese Forces songs, in an atmosphere of camaraderie and pride in belonging, before a commemorative group photograph was taken.

The Lebanese Forces were founded to endure. 🇱🇧
