التقى عضو تكتل الجمهورية القوية، النائب غياث يزبك، وفدًا من الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم، ضمّ نائب رئيس المجلس القاري لأستراليا ونيوزيلندا، الشيخ جو عريضة، ممثّلًا رئيس المجلس القاري السيد أنطوان كرم، إلى جانب الشيخ ميشال الدويهي رئيس مجلس الأمناء في الجامعة ،وعدد من اعضاء الجامعة
وحضر اللقاء، إلى جانب النائب يزبك، رئيس مركز سيدني الرفيق لوي فارس
ورحّب الشيخ جو عريضة بالنائب يزبك، وجرى البحث في أوضاع الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم وأحوال الجالية اللبنانية في أستراليا، كما تناول المجتمعون عددًا من الملفات الداخلية الراهنة في لبنان، وفي مقدّمها ملف الكهرباء
وتطرّق الوفد إلى أهمية تعزيز تمثيل اللبنانيين المنتشرين في العالم في قانون الانتخابات النيابية، حيث استمع النائب يزبك باهتمام إلى مداخلة الشيخ جو عريضة، الذي شدّد على رفض حصر تمثيل الاغتراب اللبناني بستة نواب، لما لذلك من انعكاسات على حجم مشاركة المنتشرين في الحياة السياسية والوطنية.”لن نُحجّم الاغتراب اللبناني في قانون الانتخابات بحصر تمثيله بستة نواب، ولن نستكين حتى نُنهي الملفات العالقة، على الرغم من كل الصعوبات والعراقيل”
كما ناقش الوفد مع سعادته عددًا من المواضيع الهامة التي تتعلق بوزارة الخارجية
وفي ختام اللقاء، تمنّى الوفد للنائب يزبك كل التوفيق والنجاح في مسيرته الوطنية، مؤكّدًا أهمية استمرار التواصل والتعاون لما فيه مصلحة لبنان واللبنانيين في الوطن والانتشار

Member of the Strong Republic Bloc, MP Ghayath Yazbek, met with a delegation from the World Lebanese Cultural Union New South Wales Council. The delegation included Sheikh Joe Arida, Vice-President of the Australia and New Zealand Continental Council, representing its President, Mr Antoine Karam; Sheikh Michel Douaihy, Chairman of the WLCU Board of Trustees; and several other Union members.
Also present at the meeting, alongside MP Yazbek, was comrade Louie Fares, President of the Lebanese Forces Sydney Centre.
Sheikh Joe Arida welcomed MP Yazbek, and discussions focused on the affairs of the World Lebanese Cultural Union and the Lebanese community in Australia. The meeting also addressed several pressing domestic issues in Lebanon, foremost among them the electricity crisis.
The delegation highlighted the importance of strengthening the representation of Lebanese expatriates worldwide under Lebanon’s parliamentary electoral law. MP Yazbek listened attentively to Sheikh Joe Arida, who stressed his opposition to limiting the Lebanese diaspora’s representation to just six MPs, warning of the implications this would have for expatriates’ participation in Lebanon’s political and national life.
“We will not marginalise the Lebanese diaspora under the electoral law by limiting its representation to six MPs. Nor will we rest until outstanding issues are resolved, despite all the difficulties and obstacles,” Sheikh Arida said.
The delegation also discussed with MP Yazbek several important matters relating to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation wished MP Yazbek every success in his national endeavours, emphasising the importance of maintaining communication and cooperation in the interests of Lebanon and the Lebanese people, both at home and throughout the diaspora.
Yazbek Represents the Lebanese Forces President at the Sydney Centre’s Annual Gala
In the evening, MP Ghayath Yazbek and his wife attended the annual gala of the Lebanese Forces Sydney Centre, where he represented the party’s president, Dr Samir Geagea.
